Wine Tasting Series Part 3 of 4: Fat Cabs of the South

TIME: 6:30pm to 8:00 pm

A little bit of wine knowledge goes a long way by opening doors to new flavours and wine styles. In our in-person and at-home hybrid event, Bernard Joseph Lemoyne, sommelier of the highly acclaimed restaurant Atelier, will guide us through the world of "Fat Cabs" from the Southern Hemisphere. It was a wine varietal with a global following, and so large that there had to be two classes to pay it the proper and robust respect it deserves.

Bernard will be pouring three exclusive and consignment-based Southern Hemisphere Cabernet varietals:

  • 2019 Graceland Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon, Stellenbosch, South Africa
  • 2018 Terranoble Cabernet Sauvignon Reserva, Colchagua, Chile
  • 2013 Mitchell Sevenhill Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, Clare Valley, Australia

 

Designed for all levels of wine knowledge, Bernard will educate us on the best practices for serving, handling and storing wine – including choosing the right glasses for your occasion.

The in-person experience in our Chef's Paradise Live Test Kitchen will include a glass of each of the wines being profiled that evening and an immersive experience with Bernard where you will be able to engage with your host directly. Tickets for our in-person experience are $80 each. Limited seats available. COVID-19 protocols must be adhered to. 

If you'd rather follow along at-home, our virtual experience will include a full bottle of each of the three wines being profiled, delivered to your home if you reside in Ottawa, as well as 1 set of three Riedel Vinum Xtreme varietal specific glasses. The full at home experience is $155 per connection. You may also purchase up to two additional glass sets as an add-on while purchasing your ticket.
